Onboard a Teammate
Set up a new team member with the right library access and help them connect their AI tools. This workflow uses MCP tools to automate the setup.
When to use this
- A new hire is joining the team
- Someone is transferring to your team from another department
- A contractor needs access to specific documentation
Prerequisites
- You need Owner role in the libraries you want to share
- The new member needs a Google account (for authentication)
- You need their email address
The workflow

I need to onboard a new team member to our Lore DB knowledge base.
New member: [EMAIL ADDRESS]
Team: [TEAM NAME]
Please follow these steps:
1. List our current libraries using list_libraries
2. For the following libraries, share the invite links with me:
- [LIBRARY 1]
- [LIBRARY 2]
- Core Playbooks (if we have one)
3. Search for our onboarding documentation:
search_doc("onboarding guide" OR "new hire setup")
4. Read the onboarding doc and summarize the key steps for me
5. Create a personalized onboarding checklist document titled
"[Name] — Onboarding Checklist" with:
- Libraries they should join (with invite links)
- AI tool setup instructions (link to loredb.dev/docs/guides/connect-cursor)
- Key documents they should read first
- Team contacts and escalation paths After the workflow
Once the new member has joined:
- They should connect their AI tool to Lore DB
- Add the AI agent instructions to their tool
- Start with Viewer access, upgrade to Editor once they’re comfortable
