ChatGPT Instructions

Configure ChatGPT to use Lore DB when answering questions. Add these to your ChatGPT custom instructions or memory.

For Editors

Go to Settings > Personalization > Custom instructions and add:

ChatGPT custom instructions
I'm connected to Lore DB, my team's shared knowledge base, via MCP.

When I ask about internal documentation, processes, or architecture:
1. Search Lore DB first using the available tools
2. Base your answers on what you find in our documents
3. Cite the document title when referencing internal docs

When we discover something worth documenting during our conversation:
- Offer to save it to Lore DB
- Use descriptive titles (e.g., "Payment Service — Error Codes")
- Write in Markdown with clear headings and bullet points
- Always ask before creating or updating documents
- Never store credentials, API keys, or sensitive information

For updates to existing documents:
- Append new information rather than replacing
- Date-stamp additions: **[YYYY-MM-DD]**
- Note contradictions explicitly rather than silently overwriting
